About Us
In the last years many things have changed, while the Siberian cat was a perfect unknown breed, it started to be a cat able to have great success between those who love cats, who appreciate its nature, its strength and majesty, as well as its charm and its wild look, that only a forest cat can give.
The notoriety has unfortunately brought to the loss of some morphological peculiarities of the breed, because of the including of new lines of blood, that revealed to be lower in quality compared to those that there were at the beginning.
Considering that it is not given the right importance to the person that first, through his meticulous work of search, made possible the knowledge and the spreading of the breed, we have the pleasure to tell you the history of our breeding.
The breeding TAIGA was born on 1991, when Mauro Ferrero and Maria Luisa Mosso fell in love with a photo appeared in a monthly magazine dedicated to cats, where there was shown a majestic big cat coming from Siberia.
From that day the search that brought to Italy the first couple of Siberian cats, Vladimir and Lanawara and later, in 1992, the very famous Quendolina Romanova, started: they were all coming from the German Hans and Betty Schultz' breeding Newskij.
Quendi was a wonderful kind of Siberian cat and many publishing houses took her as an example of the breed; she and the majestic Georgey Amursky, the most beautiful siberian cat that Italy has ever seen, gave birth to puppies of exceptional quality, giving the beginning to the best line of blood that at the moment we have on the world-panorama and that all the world envy us.

Between these exemplaries, we remember the World Champions Fiodor della Taiga and Eleo della Taiga.

Glinka della Taiga and Grimalkin della Taiga

The other lines of blood of our breeding gave origin to other two World Champions:
Fiorella della Taiga and Elea della Taiga

The purpose of our breeding is to continue this glorious tradition, by the selection of pure breed exemplaries and considering alternative lines of blood, through the collaboration with who, exactely like us, wants to propose again a certain kind of Siberian cat, which gave so many satisfactions through the time.
The arriving of Padishah from Russia, is only the beginning of a project that has the purpose of improving our lines of blood and to introduce new blood in Italian Siberian cats, without going to weigh upon the new kittens morphological peculiarities.
